Every time when I buy a crispy cone of ice cream, my childhood memories come into my mind: in the summer my mom during her vacation brought my sister and me to the amusement park, and we ate ice cream there. It was a small event for me.
And now I still enjoy ice cream in the same way as 12 years ago. I feel like a kid in a candy store when I have to choose ice cream flavors. Usually I prefer lemon, mulberry and yoghurt. I also like cherry, mastic, and honey - almond.
For those who love ice cream as much as I do:
1) Yaşar Usta - according to the manufacturer ice cream there is 100 percent natural, doesn’t contain preservatives, colouring, gluten or any toxic ingredients. Even if it is not true, it is more pleasant to think that you're eating something organic. It ıs all about the power of thoughts, guys!
2) Kahve dünyasi – the variety of ice cream is not rich, but its taste - Mamma, mia!!! Definitely try it, much better than in MADO (A famous ice cream brand in Turkey)
3) If you are planning to visit Büyük Ada (the largest island in Istanbul), go there only for its ice cream. You will easily find a small street, where they sell four scoops in a waffle cone for 5 Turkish liras. Unfortunately, the impression of this island is badly influenced by the smell of manure, the crowds of tourists and poor horses. Nobody cares about them, they are constantly forced to carry people up the hill. It ıs a torture! Please, never use a horse-drawn carriage there, don't encourage animal abuse!
If you come to this island, buy an ice cream and dine in the fish restaurant at the seaside. A beautiful view of Istanbul and great food are waiting for you there. One piece of advice: don't feed seagulls that look at you plaintively, just try to resist those big sad eyes. If you give them some bread, they will immediately attack your table. Yes, here they are, feathered thieves!
Little things like these make a great holiday!
